36“My kingdom is not of the world, said Jesus. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I wouldn’t be handed over to the Jews. As it is, My kingdom does not have its origin here. 37You are a king then? Pilate asked. You say that I’m a king, Jesus replied. I was born for this, and I have come into the world for this: to testify to the truth, everyone who is of the truth listens to My voice.”

John 18:36&37 (HCSB)

My Emmanuel Family,

I am grateful to God for what He is doing in our ministry. He continues to awaken us to His love and His authority. The Most-High Father has given us the Holy Spirit who dwells with us and who is actively at work in those who believe.  Jesus the Christ came into the world that we might know Him as King. On the night that He would be betrayed and before being nailed to the Cross He was asked by Pilate, “If He was a king?”  The Messiah responded in the affirmative, “I have come into the world for this.” Jesus was born that He might reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.

His reign is not merely a distant expectation, but it is a current reality for those who believe.  We are kings and priests through Him who loves us and who has set us free from our sins by shedding His blood.  Christ has made us kingdom priests unto His God and Father and we must share this Good News of the Kingdom. The King of kings declared, “I assure you: the one who believes in Me will also do the works that I do. And he will do even greater works than these, because I am going to the Father” (John 14:12). He further stated, “Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it so that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (v. 13).

This month we will recognize and celebrate Resurrection Day (Easter) on the 4th Sunday like many people across the globe. However, this one day on the calendar should not be the primary day or the only day we celebrate our King, everyday should be a day of celebration! All hail the King of Glory! He who sits at the right hand of the Father is worthy of praise, Jesus is worthy of honor, and He is worthy of our obedience. “He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature, and He upholds the universe by the world of His power. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name He has inherited is more excellent than theirs” (Hebrews 1:3-4).
